7 Quick Takes Friday (vol. 4)

Of course, the day after I post about Mother Mary nursing baby Jesus, TIME Magazine’s cover is revealed which shows a mom nursing her three year old son.  I personally don’t have a problem with extended breastfeeding.  I have a problem that it becomes an issue when a woman is photographed nursing.  It is nature.  What’s not natural is celebrities and supermodels that are shown with their breast (enhanced) hanging out as they are on the red carpet.  Rapper/RMI Artist Nicki Minaj can go on Ellen with pasties covering her nipples and a bra and that’s okay.  We live in a really backwards world.

Speaking of, as I type this, my 20 month old is sitting on my lap nursing with a crayon in her hand.  If I handed her a piece of paper she would draw me a picture while she nursed.  That’s just how it goes in this house.

Praise God for this beautiful weather!  Park playdate here we come!

I tried getting rid of u-verse and it didn’t work. They gave me a $15 a month discount for six months to try to keep me. That will get me through baseball season, make the husband happy, and then we are going u-verse free. It is a huge waste of money since we don’t ever have the tv on in our house.

Today my sister is having surgery.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Tonight I am attending the Improve Your Catholic Parenting Skills workshop.  I’m really excited to go because it comes on the heels of my church book project.  I’m praying that there will be someone there that I can talk to further about my project.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers reading this post.  Enjoy your weekend!

Don’t forget to call U-verse and cancel again when the discount is over. I know this from experience!

  2. jen says:

Uverse is really hard to cancel. Be diligent with AT&T about it. (They are a swear word in our house and I will NEVER do business again if I have any say in the matter.)
